Bachelorette (15)

by Maria Duarte

Directed by Nicholas Stoller

Bachelorette is a Mean Girls styled Bridesmaids but without their ingenuity, their humour or heart.

It stars Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher and Lizzy Caplan as three friends who are asked to be the bridesmaids of a woman they made fun of in school who is surprisingly underplayed by Rebel Wilson.

Dunst is the former queen bee who can't believe Wilson has bagged the man, the wedding and the life she always dreamt of.

While Fisher and Caplan make the perfect bridesmaids from hell, Dunst is out of her depth in the role.

It is a bizarre film because it cannot decide between being a gross-out comedy or a poignant drama, hence it fails miserably to deliver.
